I believe diet, nutrition, exercise are important in our lives, because we need to eat to live! But we live in a society that is overly consumed with living a “healthy lifestyle”. I think everything must be looked at in a perspective. Eating wholesome food and exercising gives me the energy I need to go about my day. To have a perspective and lifestyle that is filled with joy and peace we must look at what the bible says while give us that and where to focus our attention.
Morning + Bible + coffee = Heaven (and starting my day with my heart and mind in the right place)
Here are verses that address issues: I’ll be adding topic areas for the verses soon
Proverbs 20:4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
Proverbs 23:21 For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.
Phillippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Phil 4: 12-13 I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether lining in plenty or in want. I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
Heb 4: 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are- yet was without sin.
Hebrews 12:1,2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
II Corinthians 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…
Luke 9:23: If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
“Hast thou found honey? eat so much as is sufficient for thee, lest thou be filled therewith, and vomit it.”~ Proverbs 25:16
“Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.” 1 Corinthians 10:19-20,nlt
